So as some of you may now (or at least you do now!) I am participating in the Series Crackdown Read-a-thon between the 9th and 18th of February. The main aim of this read-a-thon is to tackle the series that we have all started but haven’t actually progressed with.
I know that I am guilty of constantly reading the first book in series and never actually continuing with the series. I have more series started than I care to think about. I have actually set myself a target of working on some of these throughout the year, so when I saw this read-a-thon I knew I needed to participate!
So I have set myself quite an ambitious TBR for this 10-day read-a-thon, mainly because I really do want to push myself to read as much as I can.
Firstly I would like to finish the Magnus Chase Trilogy by Rick Riordan, I read The Hammer of Thor at the beginning of this month, so being able to finish the trilogy (with The Ship of the Dead) will be fantastic.
Next I would like to finish the next book in the Shades of Magic by V.E. Schwab, I started A Gathering of Shadows at the beginning of the month and for some reason put it down to pick up other books. I would really like to make progress on this series and get this one finished. If I do feel like picking up A Conjuring of Light I do have that one on hand as well.
I would also like to make progress on the Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare, I would like to finish Clockwork Prince which I have only read the first 50 pages. I have heard that this is a lot of people’s least favourite book of the entire Shadowhunter’s universe, however I have to read this one to get to a lot of people’s favourite Clockwork Princess. I also have Clockwork Princess if I do plan on picking this one up if I intend on marathoning the rest of this series.
Another series I would like to try and catch-up with is the Falling Kingdoms Series by Morgan Rhodes, I have the fourth and fifth books to catch-up with before the upcoming release of the final instalment Immortal Reign this year. My main aim will be to complete Frozen Tides but I do have Crystal Storm to read as well.
I finally have three sequels I would like to try and get to throughout the week; Crown’s Fate by Evelyn Skye, the sequel to Crown’s Game. I would also like to get to Fireblood by Elly Blake, the sequel to Frostblood. And finally I would also like to try and get to Shadowsong by S. Jae-Jones, the sequel to Wintersong.
This means I have crazily set myself a minimum of 8 books I would like to get to, with an extra 2 books I may choose to read if I get to it. As this read-a-thon also overlaps with the Bust-a-thon, I do plan on completing Winter for both of these; the final book in the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.
Do you plan on participating in the read-a-thon? Let me know what you plan on reading in the comments below!
