So I have decided to kick this year off with a new series, with NaNoWriMo just finished there are going to be a lot of people who have a first draft and no idea what to do with it now. Editing is a terrifying business, you can read multiple books on it and still never know just what you are doing, and when you do, you never know whether you’re getting it right.
So over the next few weeks I’ll be looking at different aspects of the editing process and discussing them on here. These include:
- Why having a rough first draft is important
- Classic editing mistakes
- Pulling apart plot
- Cutting out characters
- What to do when everything seems pointless
- And many more…
The editing process is not for everyone, but if you want to be an author and get your work out there, then editing is something you will need to do. Stick around my friends and we will trek through this adventure together.
