So I have decided to do an impromptu read-a-thon, just a little 24 hour read-a-thon and this is generally because it is snowing outside and I don’t want to have to move all day. It is currently 10:55 where I am and I plan on starting the 24 hours at noon.
I do plan on staying up for the entirety of the next 24 hours and I will be updating on twitter.
I currently have 5 books I would like to either complete or make good progress on over the next 24 hours. Completing all 5 of these is pretty much impossible.
Firstly I have The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, the first book in the Raven Quartet. I am currently on page 170 of the 419 pages, this will be the first book I tackle and I hope to get it done pretty quick. I have heard amazing things about this series and I hope that it will be as quick as everyone makes it out to be.
Secondly, I have The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken, this is another currently reading book. I am currently only page 45 of 362. This is a middle-grade fantasy with some fantastic characters, I have adored what I have read so far, and being a middle-grade I know I am going to fly through this.
Now on to the books I plan on starting; firstly I would like to completely read A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab, the first book in the Shades of London Trilogy. I have heard so many people rave about this series that I am pretty ashamed not to have read it yet. With 386 pages I am hoping that it wont take me too long to devour it.
The final two books on my tbr I merely want to start and get some decent progress on, mainly because they are larger books, both epic high fantasy and both part of immense series’.
Firstly I would like to start A Storm of Swords: Steel and Snow by George R.R. Martin, the third instalment of the Song of Ice and Fire. I know I am not going to complete all 569 pages but I would like to get a few hundred complete.
And secondly I would like to start A Way of Kings Part 2 by Brandon Sanderson, the second part of book 1 of the Stormlight Archive. There are 524 pages in my version and I am hoping to get as close to finishing as possible.
I know that this is a weird and almost impossible tbr, but I know that if I push myself then I can meet my aims. I would like to have read at least 1000 pages by the end of this read-a-thon, which would be all of the books I plan on completing and starting one of the other two books.
If I find myself preferring one of the fantasy books over the other (speed-wise) then I may choose to stick to one of them and push to try and complete 4 books.
I will attempt to do a check in one here every 6 hours or so.
Wish me luck, and if you want to participate let me know in the comments of on twitter!
